        A Brief Overview of INTEX Shanghais History
 

  • In January 2014, INTEX Shanghai was commended as ‘Best Shanghai Brand Name 2013’.
      
  • In 2013, Music China and Prolight+Sound Shanghai were awarded the title of ‘Top Shanghai International Fair Brand’. And in the same year our shows China Aid, Hortiflorexpo and Rail+Metro China were each awarded the title of ‘Excellent Shanghai International Fair’. 
      
  • In 2012, China Aid moved to Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. This year’s China Aid was the largest and most extensive to date in terms of scale, coverage and international involvement in China’s senior care and rehabilitation sectors.
     
  • In January 2008, Music China was recognized for its standards of excellence as one of the top 15 exhibitions in Shanghai, and was awarded the title of ‘Top Shanghai International Fair Brand’. The judging panel was made up of representatives from the Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade Commission, the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Industries Association, and the Shanghai Municipal Government.
     
  • In 2006, Music China was selected as the one of the top 10 exhibition brands of China’s light industry.
     
  • In October 2004, Music China and Prolight+Sound Shanghai moved to the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in Pudong for the first time, with a floor space of 38,000sqm, which has established Music China as the largest music instrument show in Asia and the third largest in the world after Musik Messe Germany and NAMM (USA).
     
  • In July 2004, Mr. Zhou Taitong, Vice Mayor of Shanghai and Mr. Cai Junyong, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal Government attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd China Aid exhibition. Mr. Liu Yungeng, Deputy Party Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Communist Party Committee also paid a visit to the show.
     
  • In January 2004, Interexpo China returned to Shanghai, its birthplace after a tour of Beijing, Guangzhou and Wuhan. Mr. Jiang Sixian, Vice Mayor of Shanghai and Head of Pudong New Area and Mr. Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) attended the Pudong Summit and delivered keynote speeches.
     
  • In 2003, Music China and ProLight+Sound Shanghai began their formal association with the China Shanghai International Art Festival, which enhanced synergy between the two events.
     
  • In 2003, at Hortiflorexpo China Mr. Chen Kuiyuan, Deputy Chairman of CPPCC, Ms. Jiang Zehui, President of the China Flower Association and Mr. Zhou Yupeng, Vice Mayor of Shanghai attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon for the exhibition.
     
  • In 2002, Music China was successfully launched with a floor space of 15,000sqm, which instantly became the largest show that INTEX had organized yet. This won INTEX resounding praise from the industry.
     
  • In 2002, Mr. Feng Guoqin, the then Standing Committee Member of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shanghai attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd China Aid and cut the ribbon for the exhibition.
     
  • In 2001, Mr. Wu Zhiming, Director General of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau attended the opening ceremony of the 3rd China Police & Securex and cut the ribbon for the exhibition.
     
  • In 2001, Ms. Jiang Zehui, President of China Flower Association, Mr. Jiang Yiren, the then Deputy Mayor of Shanghai , and Mr. Zhu Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Government attended the opening ceremony and reception banquet of the 4th Hortiflorexpo China.
      
  • In 2000, Mr. Deng Pufang, the then Chairman of the China Disabled Persons Federation, Mr. Jiang Yiren, Standing Committee Member of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, Ms. Zuo Huanchen and Mr. Feng Guoqin, Deputy Mayors of Shanghai, and Mr. Zhou Taitong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Government of Shanghai and other officials attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon for the 1st China Aid exhibition.
